VECTOR Technische Unternehmensberatung mbH

In the 1990s it became increasingly apparentthat the training of non-destructive testing personnelwas an essential component of qualityassurance regarding these examinations.

In the USA there were appropriate bodies of standards, e.g. Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A (Non-Destructive Testing), that were deemed to provide a basis for training. In Germany, equivalent bodies of standards did not appear until 1993 in the form of DIN EN 473.

Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Henning set up the VECTOR Technische Unternehmensberatung GmbH (VECTOR) in 1989 for the purpose of providing industry with training courses, initially on the basis of the US bodies of standards and later on that of European standards, e.g. DIN EN 473.

VECTOR is the largest training and examination centre run by the accredited certification authority SECTOR Cert – Gesellschaft für Zertifizierung mbH. In theorganization’s well-equipped premises at Hattingen, training courses, practical training courses and qualifying examinations are carried out at Levels 1 and 2 in
the following inspection methods: MT, UT, PT, VT, RT, ET, LT-B and IT-E. Furthermore, VECTOR is approved as an examination centre by ASNT (American Society for Non-Destructive Testing).
